A Luxury Western Wedding at The Colonial in San Antonio, Florida

When you picture a luxury western wedding, you probably imagine a sunset over open fields, horses grazing nearby, and a couple who looks like they walked straight out of a country-love film. Addison and Shad brought all of that and more during their stunning wedding at The Colonial in San Antonio, FL a venue wrapped in southern charm, sweeping oak trees, and timeless brick architecture that feels straight out of a classic storybook.

This day blended high-end editorial styling with grounded western soul, and it was the kind of wedding that reminds you why love stories are meant to be photographed with intention, emotion, and a little bit of grit.

The Design: Velvet Tables, Moody Florals, and Elevated Western Details

The reception tables were dressed in deep green velvet, layered with gold chargers, mauve silk napkins, tall tapered candles, and overflowing floral arrangements in shades of ivory, dusty pink, burgundy, and wine. Every detail felt intentional, rich, and cinematic.

The florals stole the show hydrangeas, roses, calla lilies, and dahlias, layered with greenery for depth and movement. Paired with brass candleholders and dark plum glassware, the tablescape brought heritage luxury meets modern romance to life.

This design photographed flawlessly and set the tone for the editorial style that carried through the entire day.

A Western Love Story with Horses, Mossy Oaks, and Golden Light

Addison and Shad included the truest symbol of their love story their horses. The images of the couple walking through the property, framed by Spanish moss and warm sunset light, feel like stills from an old western film.

Addison’s lace corset-style bridal gown paired beautifully with Shad’s classic black jacket, crisp white shirt, and cowboy hat. Together, they brought a modern-meets-classic western aesthetic that was soft, romantic, and grounded in their lifestyle.

Some of my favorite moments:

  • The quiet forehead-kiss in the pasture
  • Addison’s dress catching the light as the horses grazed beside them
  • That blurred, in-motion shot of them walking toward the Colonial’s grand entrance
  • The dramatic oak-tree portraits that feel like a painting

These moments are exactly why western weddings have so much soul. They’re real, lived-in, unposed love stories.

The Car: A Red Muscle Car Moment at Sunset

Just when you thought it couldn’t get better, sunset hit… and out came the red Chevelle.

Bold, nostalgic, and perfectly western-Americana, the car became its own character in this love story. The couple leaned against the hood while the sky dipped into purples, pinks, and deep orange. Editorial. Dramatic. Cinematic perfection.

These images added a high-fashion edge to their gallery, creating a perfect blend of countryside romance and magazine-level storytelling.
